2019 THREAD CITY CENTURY
This year the Thread City Century is moving from our usual Saturday to Sunday, July 28th. The start location will be the same as 2018, at Edward Garrison Park in Chaplin, CT. There will be plenty of room to park, a large covered pavilion, and facilities for changing. This will be our eighth annual Thread City Century ride! This year we will be donating half of all proceeds from the event to a combination of Bike Mansfield for bike advocacy as one of Connecticut's Bike Friendly Communities and Bike Walk Bolton in support of the Hop River Trail.
102 Mile Century
The century travels through the beautiful twisty turns of Devil's Hopyard State Park, across the Connecticut River at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam and back over the river on the Chester-Hadlyme Ferry in the shadow of Gillette Castle. If you pick this option we will cover the fee for the ferry. You will also have the option to stop at up to five of our rest stops to fill your water bottle, have some packaged sweet or salty snacks, home baked treats, fruit, and a few other things for cyclist.

The 84 mile ride will be our other ride that travels through the scenic roads of Devil's Hopyard, but does not take the loop over the Connecticut River allowing for a little shorter ride with a little less climbing. You will have four well stocked rest stops along this route.

The 66 mile ride heads out the same way as the longer routes, taking a turn in Colchester to link up again with the return to Chaplin. We can't quite get you out to the Hopyard with this route, but it has been our most popular route. You will visit three of the rest stops used on the longer routes.

The 43 mile ride will be the shortest route heading out to the rest stop in Baltic where it joins the other routes on the return to the park. Two rest stops on this route to make sure you have enough fuel to get you to the finish.

FOOD, REST STOPS, & ROUTE SUPPORT
We pride ourselves on our overstocked rest stops and abundant food after the ride. All ride lengths will have stops stocked with plenty of packaged sweet and salty choices, home baked goodies, fruit, and water. When you return to the park we will have a variety of offerings to make a fresh sandwich with some salads, chips, and fruits before you head home. All included with the price of the ride. You won’t go hungry! Sweep riders and on call support will be provided for anyone needing transport back to the start / finish at the park.

Ride begins and ends at the Edward Garrison Park located at 495 Phoenixville Road (Route 198), Chaplin CT.
