TCC Electric Bicycle Policy
TCC welcomes riders using electric bicycles (Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3) on club rides, provided the bicycle is operated only in pedal-assist mode. Use of the throttle at any time during a TCC ride is not permitted.
E-bike riders are expected to:
- Ride in a safe, controlled, and predictable manner, and avoid disrupting the flow of the group by surging, overtaking the group, creating gaps, or engaging in other riding behaviors that affect group cohesion or safety.
- Follow the directions of the ride leader regarding riding behavior, pace, and position within the group, including in regard to riding off the front.
Ride leaders have the authority to request adjustments to an e-bike rider’s behavior or equipment use and may remove a rider from a ride if their conduct or operation of the bicycle is disruptive or creates a safety concern.
The TCC Board retains oversight of repeated or serious violations of this policy and may suspend ride privileges or terminate club membership for failure to comply with this policy, ride leader directions, or established group safety standards.
